About us

We have nine academic staffs, two scientific officers, one medical science technician and one administrative staff in the department of anatomy. The department is responsible for teaching programs that provide instruction to both undergraduate and graduate levels. The basic human anatomy courses consist of a thorough study of cells, tissues and organs of the body from the macroscopic, microscopic and developmental aspects. Principles of human body structure and function are studied with particular emphasis on head and neck regions. Neuroanatomy deals with both macroscopic and microscopic structures of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Correlations is made with other department in basic science and clinical science according to the dental curriculum.

 

History

Department of Anatomy was established in 1968. It was located in building one on the fifth floor and the faculty room was in building one on seventh floor. Few years later, the department was moved to the sixth floor. In 2007, the building was terminated by the decision of the Faculty of Dentistry. After this situation, our department has been relocated to the learning and recreation center building on the fourth floor until present. There are ten academic faculties, one teaching assistant, two scientists, two medical science technicians, one scientific officer and one administrative staff in the department of anatomy.
