Faculty of Dentistry Mahidol Foundation
History
Early 1981, one group of concerned Faculty members shared the opinion that the many resources and talents of the Faculty of Dentistry could be employed to benefit Thai society at large.
Together they proposed to the Faculty Committee that a foundation be established for this purpose. In July 1981, Professor Issara Yuktanan, the dean at that time, donated 100,000 baht to establish this foundation.
The Thai Cultural Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry agreed to set up the "Faculty of Dentistry Mahidol Foundation." The objectives are
• Increase and support dental education, research, service and academic activities throughout Thailand
• Increase and support preventative and curative oral health treatment
• Increase and support activities for social welfare and the public's benefit
• Remain free of political involvement
Now, Associate Professor Dr. Theeralaksna Suddasthira is the President, heading a committee of 15 members:

October 7, 2005, The Ministry of Finance created the legislation, "Special Announcement Number 597," to the effect that all donations to the Faculty of Dentistry Foundation were entitled to legal tax deductions.
